Carthage NBD Plan

On Wednesday, November 13, 2013, about 30 stakeholders from the neighborhood participated in a Strategy Meeting to think about the future of the Carthage neighborhood and take the first steps in developing a shared community vision. With the support and engagement of residents, property owners, business owners, employees, and other invested parties, a plan was created to highlight the assets and points of improvement for the business district.

Business Association

The NBD Plan includes strategies for accomplishing the stated goals of improvement, most importantly, the creation of a Carthage Business Association. This Business Association, in collaboration with the Civic League, will be the impetus of many action steps outlined in the plan. We are actively forming relationships and identifying business leaders in the community to form a Business Association. Business owners in Carthage are encouraged to join.

With the support of grant funds from NBDIP, the CCL has hired Community Building Institute of Xavier to conduct a large-scale market study for the Carthage Business District. The study was completed in the spring of 2020 and can be read by clicking the button below.
