Beautification
Our dedicated team of volunteers help keep Carthage looking its best! Monthly group clean-ups, held on the Saturday following the CCL meeting, are from 9am to 12pm (weather permitting). We meet in the parking lot of the Carthage School on 73rd St. All tools are provided - just bring yourself!
All of the flower beds and flower pots in public areas along Vine Street are maintained by the Beautification Committee. Spring planting, summer up-keep, and year-round maintenance are all done by volunteers. Our Adopt-a-Spot Program invites residents and business owners to take ownership of how our neighborhood looks. Sign up here to care for a small part of the public landscaping!
Is a whole landscaping plot a bit too much? Why not adopt a pot! Adopting a flower pot is a great way to get involved with the Beautification Team without as much commitment. Responsibilities include removing dead growth, fertilizing soil, and planting new flowers in the spring. Through the rest of the season, pots need to be watered when it hasn't been raining, as well as removing litter and weeds.
