Human Trafficking

On March 29, 2016 a town hall meeting was held by Councilwoman Yvette Simpson and State Rep. Denise Driehaus to discuss the issues of prostitution, human trafficking, and homelessness. A task force was formed with residents of Carthage, Hartwell, and Roselawn. The initial phase of the program has begun. Support is coming from the police, the City, and other support organizations such as the Salvation Army and Off the Streets Now. We are asked to continue calling in what we see in the neighborhood: District Police 513-569-8600. Officers Campbell or Edwards would be great to speak with.

Helpful things to report when observing trafficking:

  • ID of the people involved (hair color, skin color, height, age, etc.)
  • Location & activity (what happened and where)
  • License plates (if possible)

The City’s Human Trafficking Hotline is 513-800-1863.
